Created to cling.

May I Invite You to Church? God's Word is the Answer.

Created to cling.

One of the standard empty parts of our lives eventually becomes clear to us.Who Am I? Why am I here? What can I do of significance? Does anyone care who I am? What difference have I made, or will make?
Well, here are three (3) words that answer all of those questions and much more like them.

You were created to cling. He, in fact, did create you, you did not just evolve out of nothing as it were. Instead, you came into existence because He created you. Create means to bring something into existence. Knowing about God as we do, we know that He does not act without purpose. Thus He indeed has a goal for you.

The word cling is a verb, meaning to hold on too tightly. To whom? To the one who created you. What I’m trying to say is this, God created You for Himself, and you are created to cling to Him. There is really nothing of more value and blessing beyond that. In fact, unlike what Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones sang back in 1967, “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction.” You will get more satisfaction than you can imagine, if you yield yourself to the purpose’s of God, again to cling to Him, you will experience more fulfillment and answers to life’s questions.

As a belt clings to a person’s waist, so I created Judah and Israel to cling to me,” says the LORD. “They were to be my people, my pride, my glory–an honor to my name. But they would not listen to me.” Jeremiah 13:11 NLT

In another devotional, we can look at the “They would not listen to me” part of the verse. For now, and for today, may we hold on tightly to our Lord, through His Word and prayer and obedience to the leading of His Holy Spirit.

May the Lord our God cause His face to shine upon you today.
